Privacy Notice (KVKK)
Information notice on the protection of personal data (draft).
This notice has been prepared to provide general information about the processing of personal data by the Forum Institute for Social Research Association (“Forum Institute”) within the scope of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”).
1) Data Controller

2) Categories of Personal Data Processed
The following types of data may be processed through the website and communication channels:
- Identity/Contact: Name and surname (if you choose to provide it), email address, message content.
- Transaction Security: IP address, log records, browser/device information (to the extent required by technical necessities).
- Cookie Data: Preferences and usage information within the scope of the cookie policy.
3) Purposes of Processing Personal Data
- Responding to communication requests, managing information requests, and providing feedback
- Carrying out information processes regarding events, trainings, and publications (in line with your request/communication)
- Ensuring website security and monitoring errors/performance
- Fulfilling legal obligations and conducting legal processes
4) Legal Bases
Your personal data may be processed within the scope of the conditions set out in Articles 5 and 6 of KVKK, in particular based on the legal grounds of establishment/performance of a contract, legal obligation, establishment/exercise/protection of a right, and legitimate interest. Where required, explicit consent will be obtained.
5) Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred, limited to the purposes and with necessary security measures in place, to:
- Suppliers such as hosting providers, email infrastructure providers, and security service providers
- Authorized public institutions and organizations (where legally required)
6) Retention Periods
Data is retained for the period necessary for the purposes of processing and in accordance with limitation/retention periods stipulated in applicable legislation; at the end of such periods, it is deleted, destroyed, or anonymized.
7) Your Rights under KVKK
Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have rights including: learning whether your personal data is processed, requesting information if it is processed, learning whether it is used in accordance with its purpose, requesting correction/deletion, and learning the third parties to whom it is transferred.

You may submit your requests by email to enstitu@forumenstitusu.org. Depending on the nature of the request, additional information may be requested for identity verification.
